20,000 Grassroots Donors Power Army Veteran and Shreveport Mayor Adrian Perkins’ Quest for the Senate
Shreveport, L.A. – Today, Perkins for Louisiana announced that it has raised over $1 million for Army Veteran and Shreveport Mayor Adrian Perkins’ campaign for United States Senate in Louisiana. Over 20,000 individual donors have contributed to elect Mayor Perkins only 62 days after entering the race.
“Despite his late entry into the race, Mayor Perkins has worked overtime to speak directly to voters across Louisiana about the issues that matter to families like protecting and expanding healthcare, providing relief to working families in this economic crisis and bringing leadership to the Senate,” said Perkins for Louisiana Campaign Manager Hilary Barrett. “Our campaign refuses to take one red cent of corporate PAC money. This is what a people-powered campaign looks like. It’s a clear message from Louisianans that it’s time to end the political games and put people before politics.”
Today’s fundraising news is more evidence of momentum for Mayor Adrian Perkins after endorsements from a growing list that includes Vice Presidential Nominee Senator Kamala Harris, Senator Cory Booker, Senator Catherine Cortez Mastro, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Leader Stacey Abrams, Former Senator J. Bennett Johnston, Former Louisiana Democratic Party Chair Karen Carter Peterson, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, the Louisiana Democratic Party Executive Committee, Louisiana AFL-CIO, VoteVets, Taking The Hill, Forum for Equality, IWO, as well as a slate of key leaders from across Louisiana.
